Bio
Dr. Leslyn Lewis is the Member of Parliament for Haldimand-Norfolk and Conservative Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Communities. She was first elected to the House of Commons in September of 2021. In 2020, she ran for Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, securing the popular vote on the second ballot, and later ran again in 2022.
Prior to politics, Lewis practiced law and had her own law practice, specializing in international licensing agreements within the energy sector. She also taught at the University of Toronto and at Osgoode Hall Law School and has published several peer-reviewed journal articles on the subject of international law, trade and the environment.
In addition to a Juris Doctor and a bachelor’s degree in sociology, Lewis holds a master’s degree in environmental studies from York University, an MBA with a concentration in Business and the Environment from the Schulich School of Business, and a PhD in international law from Osgoode Hall Law School.
Leslyn and her family are proud residents of the town of Dunnville.
She is passionate about creating policies that will uplift humanity by helping society’s most vulnerable.
